This giant statue was built in honor of Karl Marx. It is in Chemniz, a town in the former East Germany. The town's name had been changed under communism to Karl Marx Stadt (Karl Marx City). If you scroll down, you can see Magalie at the bottom of the statue. The town was pretty industrial, and a little depressed, but the people in the town were very nice. It was very cold there.
